A Compressor nebuliser converts liquid medication into a mist via a compressor that creates air /oxygen, for inhalation by a patient. These are the traditional nebulisers and are durable units that offer a wide range of particle size (medication) delivery.

An Ultrasonic nebuliser uses ultrasonic vibrations that passes through water to generate a fine mist (air /oxygen), for inhalation by a patient. They are virtually silent. Ultrasonic nebulisers have medication restrictions because heat is transferred to the medication.

The OMRON Vibrating Mesh nebuliser uses vibrating mesh to create air /oxygen. This is the best of both worlds because it is silent but does not add any heat to the medication. It is a portable, pocketsize unit.
